BASF is inviting Ph.D. students and postdoctoral researchers to apply for the 2026 BASF North American Research Forum.

The Forum offers a unique opportunity for early-career scientists and engineers with postgraduate academic experience in chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, biosciences, material science or polymer science to gain insight into the industry and learn more about research and development, engineering, technology, marketing and production.

The Research Forum will be held at BASF’s site in Wyandotte, Michigan from Monday, July 13, through Wednesday, July 15, 2026, with all expenses covered.

Students selected from research centers and universities will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with peers from other schools alongside BASF scientific experts and leaders. Participants will gain experience through presentations, discussions, lab visits, and a sustainability challenge. There will also be dedicated time for informal meetings and networking sessions.

“Since 2020, the Research Forum has provided BASF with a unique opportunity to connect with future scientific leaders and gain a fresh perspective on some of the challenges the industry faces today,” said Benjamin Knudsen, BASF Vice President of Research North America. “Participants can also see first-hand how we address these challenges and how impactful and rewarding pursuing a career at BASF can be.”

Students and postdoctoral researchers who are interested in participating can now view requirements and submit applications by Friday, May 15, 2026 at the following link: BASF 2026 North American Research Forum
